Michelle Woodruff- Artist

From a very young age, I have carried the passion for design. My earliest memory of an interest in wearable art is sitting on my grandmother’s lap, and being completely mesmerized and enamored with her jewelry of choice. She would, years later, share with me, her belief that a lady chooses her jewelry as a self-expression of her unique personality. I did not fully grasp her meaning until my love for this artistic media became active and I began to create my own designs. When I design a new piece, I reflect back to her words and the inexhaustible meaning of self-expression, and never stray from the statements my art will make.

Like a true lady, with her aura of grace and elegance, uniquely delicate, yet decidedly strong, so too, is a Roxy Ruby creation. I create my wearable art using fine silver, sterling silver, gemstones, and any texture that catches my artistic attention. The results are one of a kind necklaces, broaches, bracelets, and earrings. I continue to challenge my medium, always reaching for new heights but never loosing sight of my soulful purpose for the design; to reflect and express the many facets of the lady who will wear my art. Her style, chic and hip, while totally unpretentious, or haute couture, yet whimsical and fun, sometimes the sophisticate, sometimes the playful, will always reflect the intricate style of a lady.
